TREE PLANTING

When Faith and Avery passed away we decided that we would plant a tree by their grave around their due date. Although they would have been born around the end of August my 40 week due date was last Thursday (9/24). After lots of searching we settled on the Dynamite Crepe Myrtle. It is a very pretty tree with bright red blooms. The tree will bloom from spring (around the girls' birthday) until the Fall when they were actually due to be born. It grows quickly and is VERY drought resistant, which we need around here.

So, on Sunday we went down to the cemetery to plant our daughters' tree. It is so tiny now, but very pretty. I can't wait to see how beautiful it will be in the spring of next year. It will bring a lot of beauty to place that is often difficult to visit.

On a more happy note we have an update about our journey into fostering. We found out on Friday that our application was accepted and we have been enrolled in the 8 week MAPP class. YAY! During this class we will complete the training that is required and complete our physicals and home inspections. Our classes begin next week and will be completed on December 2nd. The director of the program asked during our conversation if we were already prepared to bring a baby into our home. You know, do we have a crib, is the room ready, etc. I said well we have most of what we would need, but it isn't really all set up just the way we would want it. She recommended we get a start on that. Although there are no guarantees, because you never know how these things may go, she said it was likely we would get a placement pretty quickly after completing our classes and inspections. WOW! That could put a new baby in our home by Christmas. Wouldn't that be amazing?!?!? I am trying to remember that anything with the State can and almost always does get tricky. I don't want to get excited and then end up waiting for a placement until March or something crazy. Anyway, it will all unfold in God's perfect timing. Please pray for us as we enter this new chapter.
